Adler Fels 2006 Sauvignon Blanc (Russian River Valley)
-
$15
Fermented in stainless steel, this young white retains the freshness and fruity vitality of the high-quality grapes from its home vineyard. Acidity really is the key, highlighting the citrus, fig, melon and vanilla flavors that shine so brightly. This is really a wonderfully drinkable, Sancerre-like Sauvignon Blanc.

Adler Fels 2006 Gewürztraminer (Russian River Valley)
-
$15
I wish this Gewürz had more intensity to the fruit, because even at this everyday price, it’s a little watery on the finish. The dry flavors, framed by crisp acids, suggest gingersnap cookies, figs, cinnamon-spiced apple sauce and vanilla. One wonders if limiting yields would result in a better wine, which could be sold at a higher price.
