Alapay 1999 Zinfandel (Paso Robles)
Online Exclusive
Price
$18
Here’s an absolutely classic Paso Zin. It brims with the juiciest wild berry and jam flavors, big and bold, wrapped in ultrasoft tannins and set off by low acids. It’s also nicely dry, without those hot country Port notes. This all makes it a grand drink in its precocious youth.

Alapay 2000 Chardonnay (Central Coast)
Online Exclusive
Price
$17
Pretty darned nice Chard, and not too oaky or sweet, for a change. This one has fresh apple and peach flavors in a round, creamy texture, with quite a dollop of lees, which adds to the complex palate and finish. The structure is especially good.

Alapay 2004 Edna Ranch Chardonnay (Edna Valley)
Online Exclusive
Price
$22
Here’s a fine, distinctive Chardonnay. It possesses classic Edna acidity and forward citrus and mineral flavors, with a luscious interweaving of honeysuckle. The wine is thoroughly dry and quite delicious.

Alapay 2004 Edna Ranch Pinot Noir (Edna Valley)
Price
$25
Delicately silky and dry, this is an elegant Pinot that’s dynamic in fruity flavor. Ripe red cherry pie filling, cola, root beer and pomegranates flood the mouth, leading to a clean, Asian spice finish. Should hold well for five years.

Alapay 2000 Viognier (Santa Barbara County)
Online Exclusive
Price
$19
Typically bright and floral-fruity, this offers up a big mouthful of lemonade, peach juice, and honeyed, wildlfower flavors. ItÕs creamy and rich, and really a lot of fun, a wine to enjoy, not ponder over.
