Albert Bichot 2010 Domaine du Clos Frantin Pinot Noir (Chambertin)

  • Cellar Selection
The king of the Gevrey-Chambertin grand crus, this powerful, concentrated Chambertin is a blockbuster. It is currently dominated by its structure, which hides the ripe fruit. Made from grapes sourced from the upper portion of the Chambertin vineyard, this selection also has a mineral element, and it promises considerable aging potential.  — R.V.  (4/1/2013)

Albert Bichot 2006 Domaine du Clos Frantin Pinot Noir (Echézeaux)

  • Cellar Selection
Spicy, smoky Lapsang Souchong tea aromas, pure acidity and juicy red plum flavors are all here in this big, but finely structured wine. The tannins are an essential part of the shape of the wine, but act as a support for its richness. The finish brings out the lively acidity of Pinot Noir. Age for five years.  — R.V.  (12/31/2008)

Albert Bichot 2005 Domaine du Clos Frantin Pinot Noir (Clos de Vougeot)

  • Online Exclusive
Deliciously rich and fruity, this is a wine that shows that Clos de Vougeot is a great vineyard. It has all the ripeness, the big, generous fruit, supported by wood. The berry flavors are intense, pierced through with acidity, and the denseness of the wine promises good aging.  — R.V.  (3/1/2008)

Albert Bichot 2006 Domaine du Clos Frantin Pinot Noir (Clos de Vougeot)

From parcels in the southern portion of Clos Vougeot, Bichot produces a ripe, relatively soft style of wine. It is, of course, also rich and powerful, but the tannins are sweet, subdued into ripe red plum and raspberry fruits, the acidity giving the wine a fresh, lively character to finish.  — R.V.  (12/31/2008)

Albert Bichot 2010 Domaine du Clos Frantin Pinot Noir (Vosne-Romanée)

This wine has equal amounts of ripe berry fruit and structure. There is a smoky character, wood and spice notes, balanced acidity and a leather-like touch to the texture. It is slowly developing, and it has the potential to be rich. Age this for 6–8 years.  — R.V.  (4/1/2013)
