Ripe, pure and dense for a bargain-priced Malbec. The palate is a bit chunky and stolid, but the flavors of ripe berry, chocolate and beef stock ring true and the feel is clean and cushioned. A good but regular wine where the basics are covered.

Strange Chardonnay. It smells and tastes more like feeble Torrontés than Chard. The palate offers only shearing apple fruit, and the finish is hard. Can’t imagine anyone pegging this as Chardonnay.
