àMaurice 2007 Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

  1. $35
This vintage has the Horiuchi artist label. Another glorious wine from the 2007 vintage, full and forward, packed with plum and purple fruits. Sweet tobacco and baking spices lead into a lush, fruit-loaded core, ripe with berries and plums. The finish—thick and textural and darkly chocolaty—wraps around polished, elegant tannins.  — P.G.  (9/1/2010)

àMaurice 2009 Sparrow Viognier (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

  1. $33
The second vintage from the estate vineyard, this is rich and honeyed, scented with bee pollen, candle wax, hints of pine needle. Meyer lemon, caramel, honey and more coat the palate. Still very young, but all the pieces are there.  — P.G.  (10/1/2010)

As with the last vintage, this has been sourced from Lewis, Willard and Conner Lee vineyards. Scents of coconut and other tropical fruits lead into flavors hinting at banana cream, lime, white peach, and papaya. The finish brings in brioche, caramel and medium toast. A yum-fest.  — P.G.  (10/1/2010)

àMaurice 2006 Malbec (Columbia Valley (WA))

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $34
Malbec is likely to become a signature red for àMaurice, as for a number of other young Walla Walla wineries. This excellent bottle proves the point. It’s fragrant and deep in color, with verve, tangy blackberry and currant fruit, polished slightly grainy tannins and a seductive, mouth-coating finish. Just the right touch of earth, herb and licorice to give it…  — P.G.  (9/1/2010)
