Annie's Lane 2001 Coppertrail Shiraz (Clare Valley)
Price
$30
Shows sweet vanilla and candied nut on the nose, followed by cool, black-cherry notes in the mouth. It’s a focused wine, not a mouthfilling one, with a lovely soil-mineral texture. Very good; 750 cases produced. Imported by Foster’s Wine Estates Americas.

Annie's Lane 2002 Sémillon (Clare Valley)
Online Exclusive
This Semillon has perky yellow fruit and a viscous mouthfeel; has some weight and fullness, particularly considering the variety, and the fact that it’s unoaked. Hay, honey, flowers and fresh-mown grass on the nose is the best part.

Annie's Lane 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot (Clare Valley)
Best Buy
Price
$13
Though the wine's flavors and aromas are dark—earth, black cherry, black plum—it still presents a cheerful, not black and brooding, face. Cooler-climate cherry fruit on the palate is tart and sweet. Chewy and medium-bodied, and a very nice value.

Annie's Lane 2003 Riesling (Clare Valley)
Best Buy
Price
$14
Nose is a nice mix of lime, gooseberry and jasmine, and the mouthfeel is a mix of chalky smoothness and a dash of viscosity. Peach, pear and lime peel flavors fade into a medium-length finish.

Annie's Lane 2004 Shiraz (Clare Valley)
Best Buy
Price
$13
Medium- to full-bodied, this richly earthy Shiraz also brings along plenty of complexity in its aromas and flavors of smoke, tobacco, cola and blackberry. There’s some oak, but this bargain-priced beauty is more about displaying the Clare Valley terroir than simple fruit or oak, unusual in this price range. Drink now–2012.

Annie's Lane 2002 Chardonnay (Clare Valley)
Best Buy
Price
$13
This is a bright, balanced Chard with a clean, chalky mouthfeel and nice Golden Delicious apple, passion fruit and peach flavors on the palate. Finishes with dry citrus flavors. It screams summer, so enjoy it outside while the weather’s fine.

Annie's Lane 2004 Riesling (Clare Valley)
Price
$14
Very dry, as Clare Rieslings should be, this is an ideal pre-dinner sip. Its flavors are palate cleansing and subtle—think citrus peel and mineral/stone, and its acidity is just tangy enough. Olive oil, cracker and citrus aromas start it all off. Imported by Foster’s Wine Estates Americas.

Annie's Lane 2004 Coppertrail Riesling (Clare Valley)
Price
$14
Some Rieslings bowl you over with flavor and acid, but this isn’t one of them. You know all that talk you hear about the grape’s versatility with food? They could have been talking about this wine, and its wet-stone texture, and lemon and pear flavors. Imported by Foster’s Wine Estates Americas.
