Antonio Nerviani 2001 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Mendoza)
Price
$16
Brownish in color, and clearly on its way to maturity. The nose is herbal and spicy, but in a good way, rather than conveying green notes. Tobacco, olive and dried plum and cherry flavors make for a more complex palate than many. Finishes simple and nice, which is why it goes no higher than this. Imported by S&F Trading Company.

Antonio Nerviani 2001 Reserve Meritage (Mendoza)
Price
$16
Shows initial aromas of cherry and raspberry along with leather and raisin, but after some airing the bouquet dulls down and becomes murky. Lots of buttery, nonintegrated oak covers the red-fruit flavors and then dominates the finish. Ultimately that oak is the downfall.

Antonio Nerviani 2001 Reserve Malbec (Mendoza)
Price
$16
Green and funky at first, but it changes rapidly. There’s also candy and raisin on the nose. The mouth is sort of lean and herky-jerky, with sugar beet and spice. Finishes heavy and syrupy, with a hint of sour weediness. Imported by S&F Trading Company.
