Wow—talk about contrasts. The nose is way over the top, a grotesque parody of a butterscotch sundae. The finish is multilayered and complex, featuring echoes of toast and white peaches. In between is a somewhat neutral-tasting wine. You may love it or you may hate it—it’s that kind of wine.

Unusual aromas of jam, figs and curry lead to a spicy, grapey—though slightly acidic—palate. Finishes short, with too much tannin for the fruit.

Herbaceous almost to the point of being vegetal, the weedy tobacco aromas flirting dangerously with green bean scents. The tart cherry and bell pepper flavors turn lemony on the finish, giving an impression of less-than-fully-ripe fruit.
