Atmosphere 2008 La Prenda Vineyard Dos Burros Marsanne-Roussanne (Sonoma Valley)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $30
Rhône white blends are among the toughest to pull off in California, but Atmosphere does a terrific job. Among the top of its class, it’s bone dry, crisp and minerally, with subtle, complex flavors of white peach, papaya, fig, vanilla and buttercream flavors. Really good. Try as an alternative to a rich Chardonnay.  — S.H.  (7/1/2010)

Atmosphere 2008 Bismark Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma Valley)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $60
The vineyard, high in the Mayacamas Mountains, is famous for the tannic quality of its red wines. You’ll find this ’08 Cab tough and astringent. But you’ll also easily discover the vast richness of chocolate, cherry, blackberry and currant fruit, so deep and impressive, and the finish is totally dry and balanced. This Cabernet clearly needs time. Give it until 2014…  — S.H.  (12/15/2010)

Atmosphere 2010 Denmark St. Vineyard Fumé Blanc (Sonoma Valley)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $25
The cold vintage took its toll here, resulting in less than ripe fruit. Although the wine is refreshingly dry and tart, the lemon and lime flavors are compromised by a tart green taste that finishes sour.  — S.H.  (12/15/2011)
