Wonderful, this is a wine that will blow you away. It’s magnificent on all levels, from its complexity to its long endurance on the palate. Aromas of red fruit, roasted coffee bean, smoked pancetta and soft spice build in intensity and brightness the longer the wine stays in the glass. Firm, velvety tannins promise long aging potential.

Barolo Rocche scored considerably higher than Aurelio Settimo’s base Barolo this year and would make a wonderful addition to your cellar. This is a gorgeous wine with impressive intensity and penetrating aromas of balsam, chopped mint, forest berry, underbrush and white mushroom. It’s elegant and compact in the mouth with a long, firm finish.

Located in the La Morra fraction of the Barolo wine area, Aurelio Settimo is a small, boutique winery that started selling fruit in 1962. Eventually, the family decided to bottle its product and the results are spectacular. This fresh Barolo from the Rocche cru is bright and tonic with lively notes of berry, mesquite and cola.
