Medium weight with good flavor and varietal character after a slightly muddy opening. The wine expands, improving in the glass where the dark berry fruit and tobacco, earth and toasty oak accents gain focus. Solid, basic Cabernet with a decently long finish.

This is a good wine for this price. Tropical notes of mango and guava are accented with some vanilla. Menthol and smoke notes add some complexity, and the full body has enough balancing acidity. Imported by American Wine Distributors.

Green bean and dill lead off the nose, but white fruits emerge on the palate to counter the vegetal notes. Good intensity of flavor, with acidity that borders on tart. Imported by American Wine Distributors.

This is an assertive Pinotage with a lusty edge of smoke and leather. The nose exhibits spicy red fruit and pepper and the flavors have a masculine, rustic character of spice and tobacco. Unique, intriguing, and a winner with equally robust dishes.

Dark cherry and toast shows on the nose of this straightforward Cabernet. The wine offers more of the same and some earthy shadings on the dry and even palate. Finishes with medium length, and displays a hint of chocolate on the back end.

This medium-weight Chardonnay has its own style somewhere between Old and New World in manner. It’s dry, with a bouquet of hay and faint orange, and tangy and slightly grainy—in flavor and texture—on the tongue, showing more citrus hints. Turns nutty on the finish. Drink now–2003.

Round with perfectly accurate, varietally correct aromas and flavors. Bright without being sharp, showing sweet-sour fruit and pepper hints on the close. Quite drinkable and quite mainstream.

Strange, dry aromas of peanut shell are off-putting, but the wine comes back with flavors of cashews and white fruit. Dry, with good acidity, it finishes with hints of spice. Imported by American Wine Distributors.
