This white blend has a decidedly floral, garden-y bouquet with honeysuckle, green-bean and butterscotch notes. Though the wine is medium-full (and much bigger than you’d expect a Chardonnay to be), the apple, cream and grapefruit flavors aren’t over the top. Finishes medium-long, with a pleasant citrusy tang.

Ah, the great outdoors. On the nose, raspberry, blackberry and plum meet tobacco and hickory, campfire-like aromas. Palate smolders with smoke, oak and charcoal over fruit flavors; this is a big, but not too heavy, wine. Slightly hot finish is peppered with black fruit flavors. This will overshadow many dishes—try it with barbecue or s’mores.

An interesting spiciness adds interest, keeping this round, accessible wine from being just another bottle. The dark fruit shows tobacco, cumin, anise and red pepper notes. It’s soft, not fat, on the palate, and goes down easy with a tangy pepper-licorice close.

Easy-drinking and pleasing. Vanilla bean, cream and musky aromas usher in red fruit (plum, cherry, you name it), a judicious amount of wood, and a streak of anise. 43,000 cases produced. Imported by Pacific Wine Partners.
