Bava 1997 Barolo di Castiglione Falletto Nebbiolo (Barolo)
Price
$60
Bava’s Barolo is solid and tannic, with concentrated dried fruit aromas showing the character of the powerful 1997 vintage. There are flavors of sundried tomatoes as well as black fruits. This is a serious wine that will age slowly.

Bava 2003 Piano Alto Barbera (Barbera d'Asti Superiore)
Price
$33
Despite the infamous heat of the 2003 vintage, Piano Alto Barbera d’Asti Superiore is a surprising and impressive wine. There are pretty linear notes of black stone and granite backed by some ripe berry and blackberry. The wine seems younger than it really is.

This Barbera d’Asti Superiore from the Nizza subzone offers bright aromas of cherry cola, red apple, balsam notes, dried mint and currant berry. It’s a different and unique wine with a high level of inherent grace and elegance.

Bava 2000 Stradivario Barbera (Barbera d'Asti Superiore)
Online Exclusive
Price
$68
Due to its older age, this is a difficult wine to evaluate. Barbera is usually released young and fresh and is intended as a companion to pizza, pasta and other easy foods. This wine, on the other hand, shows sophisticated aromas of dried currant, leather, cola and spice.

Bava 2011 Bass Tuba Moscato (Moscato d'Asti)
Online Exclusive
Price
$24
Bass Tuba is a sweet sparkling dessert wine that opens with an off-gold color and ripe aromas of peach, honey, candied fruit and mango. It’s a bold, concentrated Moscato d’Asti with a thick, creamy mouthfeel, bright sweetness and piquant touch of white pepper.

Bava 2004 Bass Tuba Moscato (Moscato d'Asti)
Price
$25
Tightly packed with mineral notes, white flowers, dried grass, sage and beeswax. Seductively sweet in the mouth with good foam and bubble persistency; a good companion to cookies or panettone. Imported by Wine Wave.

Bava 2009 Controvento Dolcetto (Dolcetto d'Alba)
Price
$15
This youthful expression of Dolcetto offers a dark, concentrated style and a very noticeable mineral tone that slices through the lush blueberry and raspberry aromas. The wine is tonic and vibrant and although there isn’t huge complexity here, there is a good, fresh quality of fruit.

Bava 1998 Controvento Dolcetto (Dolcetto d'Asti)
Price
$13
The attractive, almost Pinot Noir-like nose shows good fruit and smoke accents. Plum, coffee, and licorice flavors mark the palate, which displays an unusual but not unattractive powdery feel. Has good balance and a dusty cocoa-tinged finish of medium length. Best Buy.
