Very clean, bright pineapple and citrus nose. Very ripe, delicious fruit of many flavors, and the mouthfeel is well defined and not overly sappy. Long, almost juicy, mouthwatering finish. This wine displays very good balance from stem to stern.

A full-bodied, strongly flavored wine, with green apples and citrus fruits powerfully dosed with smoky oak and lees. Very dry and well-structured. The finish is spicy and tobaccoey, and turns yeasty-sour.

Baystone 1999 Shiraz (Dry Creek Valley)

Medium-weight and brisk, this Sonoma wine has a blackberry, herb and cocoa profile, accented by ginger-snap and cedar notes. Bitter chocolate and black coffee play on the slightly short, tart and tangy, mildly tannic finish. Has appeal, even a bit of depth, but not a great deal of nuance.
