Belo 1999 Dessert Wine Sauvignon Blanc (Napa Valley)
-
$25
Frankly sweet, with a dollop of Sémillon, this white Bordeaux-style wine has powerful, pronounced flavors of smoky honey, peaches, and especially pears, with a finish that tastes distinctly of white chocolate. These flavors are very strong and pure, and call for similar foods.

Belo 1999 Sousao Port (California)
-
$15
Fairly sweet, with dark chocolate, black cherry, and sweetened espresso flavors, set off by adequate acidity. Lacks the layers and complexity of the best Portuguese stuff, but at this price, it’s a nice wine to sip with chocolate desserts.
