Benjamin Silver 2003 Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County)
-
$45
The vineyard is in Santa Maria Valley, a cool area, but this is an exceedingly ripe Pinot. The flavors are of cherry pie filling, raspberry-infused chocolate truffle and cola, made spicier by toasty oak. Fortunately, the wine has a silky elegance. The French will scratch their heads, but it’s a polished, delicious New World Pinot.
