Bergevin Lane 2003 Jaden's Reserve Syrah (Columbia Valley (WA))

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $55
This extremely limited (47 cases) Syrah is dedicated to the owners’ daughter Jaden, who is pictured on the label. Very classy Wahluke Slope fruit sends up citrus, spice, pineapple and lime aromas over bright, sappy raspberry and cherry fruit.  — P.G.  (8/1/2006)

Bergevin Lane 2003 Intuition Reserve Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

  1. $45
A Bordeaux blend with a textured, spicy, exotic nose that mixes its red and black fruits with pepper, ground coffee, cinnamon and saffron. The spice box opens into a lovely, supple wine that continues to display nicely nuanced notes of mineral, leaf and leather.  — P.G.  (4/1/2006)

This 100% varietal merlot is strongly aromatic, with lovely and imposing scents of plum and licorice, citrus peel and herb. Nuanced and lingering, it has a very French sensibility.  — P.G.  (4/1/2005)

Bergevin Lane 2008 She-Devil Syrah (Columbia Valley (WA))

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $22
The best value among all of Bergevin Lane’s 2008 Syrahs, this rich and smoky effort spent 20 months in oak. Sourced from Stone Tree and Francisca’s vineyards, it has tight, ripe berry flavors and beautifully manicured tannins.  — P.G.  (2/1/2012)

Bergevin Lane 2008 Stone Tree Vineyard Intuition Reserve Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $58
A riot of licorice, cassis, toast and berry, this 83% Cabernet Sauvignon/17% Petit Verdot Bordeaux-style blend is currently showing a lot of barrel flavors, with subdued but not insignificant fruit. Medium-grained tannins give the finish some gravitas.  — P.G.  (2/1/2012)

Bergevin Lane 2007 Viognier (Columbia Valley (WA))

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $25
Lemon oil and candle wax add interesting nuances to the citrusy, barrel-fermented fruit. There was no malolactic fermentation; it’s bone dry and the acids are all natural and smooth. Delicate hints of toast and honeyed almonds bring still more depth and flavor interest to the juicy citrusfruit.  — P.G.  (3/1/2009)

Bergevin Lane 2004 Viognier (Columbia Valley (WA))

  1. $25
Thick and peachy, with the weight of Roussanne (19%) married to the elegance of the Viognier (81%), this barrel-fermented, oak-aged wine displays intense fruit flavors of apricot, white peach and citrus. Round and fleshy, it retains sufficient acid to prevent a flabby impression. A nice kiss of vanilla sends it on its way.  — P.G.  (12/15/2005)

Bergevin Lane 2003 Calico Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

  1. $16
A “kitchen sink” blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel, it somehow knits itself together and avoids the broad, generic red syndrome of most cheap blends. This has sappy, sweet fruit built upon juicy berries, and that concentrated core carries right through the clean, spicy finish.  — P.G.  (6/1/2005)
