Only Edna Valley could produce this remarkably bold, bright acidity and rich key lime pie and sauteed banana flavors. Oak is the perfect partner, adding smoky vanillins and buttercream.

A very nice Cab made in the Paso style. It’s soft, dry and spicy, a round, supple wine with flavors of black currants, raspberries and cedar. Attractive and classy.

Quite a good wine, rich, full-bodied and succulent. Shows a wealth of blackberry, red currant, licorice, bacon and black pepper flavors that finish with a touch of heat. The winery actually has lowered the price on this wine from previous vintages, which makes it a good value.

This Syrah does what Paso does so well with big reds. It’s soft and lusciously fruity and almost decadent. Of course, the alcohol is high, but those caramelized blackberry and cherry pie, crème de cassis, and raspberry-filled chocolate bonbon flavors are irresistable.

A really nice Cabernet that shows how well Paso Robles can produce this kind of wine while keeping prices modest. Made from 100% of the variety, it’s dry and rich in tannins, with interesting flavors of blackberries, currants, anise and smoky oak. Drink now.

Shows the aggressive tannins that often mark this unruly variety, but that’s part of the charm. It’s a big, potent wine, muscular in blackberry, black currant, leather and black pepper flavors, and best of all it’s dry without high alcohol. A very nice wine to drink now with barbecue or beef stew made with the wine or one similar to it.

Here’s an unoaked wine that will be great as a cocktail sipper, or with a wide range of foods, from veggies with a garlicky dip to roasted chicken or broiled halibut. It’s bone dry and very crisp in acidity, with interesting flavors of citrus fruits, figs, green melons, wildflowers, vanilla and dusty spices.

Mainly Syrah, with some Pinot Noir, this is a dry, tannic wine. It’s not likely to age, but is pleasant for the clean, brisk, silky mouthfeel and flavors of black cherries, currants, bacon, violets, sandalwood and pepperspice. Argues for more bottlings of this unique blend.
