This wine is rock solid and well worth a go. The nose is smoky, rubbery and full of fruit. In the mouth, vanilla softens and supports pure plum and cherry flavors. Mouthfilling and balanced. If only all value wines were this well made. Imported by Dylain Produce, LLC.

Despite having no track record in the U.S., this wine has a lot of positives. The leathery nose has fresh red fruit, bacon and even some sugar-beet aromas. The flavor profile veers toward black plums, bacon and mocha, while the fully oaked finish is lengthy, powerful and full of vanilla and cherry candy. From the Polo stable, this is the best wine. Best Buy. —M.S.

Spicy and smooth on the nose, with piquant hints to the plum-styled fruit. The palate boasts cherry and plum accented by ample but balanced oak spice. Some buttery wood notes are evident on the long, layered finish. Seemingly well made and modern, and a nice example of affordable Malbec. Best Buy. —M.S.
