Black Ridge 2007 Pinot Noir (Santa Cruz Mountains)
-
$39
With juicy acidity to balance the richness, this is a fine coastal Pinot to have with lamb, beef, salmon and such. It offers a burst of cherries, black raspberries, currants, sweet rhubarb pie, mocha and spices, with considerable oak, but that savory acidity gives it a racy finish. Now–2013.

Black Ridge 2006 Pinot Noir (Santa Cruz Mountains)

$39
A racy, clean and pure Pinot Noir that shows succulent flavors of raspberries, cherries, oranges, cola, smoky vanilla, cloves, pepper and cinnamon, wrapped into a lightly elegant texture. Marked by considerable acidity, the wine should hold and modestly improve for up to six years.

Black Ridge 2006 Viognier (Santa Cruz Mountains)

This could be crisper. It’s a little on the soft side, which gives it a melted, candied feeling. But there’s no question that it’s a delicious wine. It just floods the mouth with pineapple custard, lemon, pear, vanilla, honey, almond cookie and crème brûlée flavors.

Black Ridge 2009 Viognier (Santa Cruz Mountains)

Impresses for the sheer volume of ripe fruit, with powerful pineapple, lime, lemon, peach, vanilla and honeysuckle flavors. The mouthfeel is creamy, and there’s just enough acidity for balance.
