Roasted at first, with coffee, grilled meat and earth aromas taking the lead. Narrow in the mouth, with firm tannins that frame ripe and healthy raspberry flavors accented by vanilla and cola. A little bit traditional in that it’s earthy and dry, but it’s not devoid of fruit and attitude.

Modest lemony aromas set up additional scents of balsam wood, dried cherry, plum and spice. The palate is forward, maybe a touch sharp in terms of acidity, with rustic, roasted, leathery flavors. It is a big wine that finishes lively and also a little rooty and roasted. Cabernet Sauvignon-Malbec-Merlot is the blend.

Dense, rubbery and solid in terms of black-fruit aromas. In the mouth, it feels right and fades nicely, highlighting healthy, firm blackberry, black olive and herbal flavors. Meets the norms of a very good, commendable Malbec. 14,000 cases made.

Deep and dense, this smells horsey and leathery, with aromas of earthy berries. The palate feels racy with acidity, and the flavors of berry, cassis, cola and vanilla lead to a sweet, jammy finish, with touches of vanilla and caramel.

Baked fruit and coconut are the lead aromas, and there’s cassis and stewed berry scents as well. Gritty in the mouth, with sweet, medicinal berry fruit flavors, coconut and chocolate. Stocky, ripe, tannic and medicinal on the finish.

Opens with light tropical aromas, toasty oak and vanilla. It’s honest on the palate, where the body is good and structured and the flavors of peach and apple are accented by toasty oak. Nice and balanced, but maybe a touch woody for what it is.

A ripe, raisiny wine—it starts out with aromas of raisin, milk chocolate and candied berry. The palate is saturated, with prune and baked-plum flavors and a chunky finish. Drink now.

On the reticent side in terms of aromas, with a mild soupy quality that lends earth and leather. The palate is thicker, with tannic grab and sweet, herbal berry flavors backed by a creamy, somewhat candied finish. Shows plenty of oak.
