This organic wine is interesting if not amazing. First off, it is more acidic than most; but it’s also made in a different vein, coming from up north in Cafayete. Look for zippy rhubarb and cranberry nuances as well as a touch of stewed character at the core. Not unlike a German or Austrian red. — M.S. (12/1/2003)

Distant but not overpowering aromas of green tobacco and canned veggies bring ripeness into question, yet in the mouth, it’s more about berry fruit and cassis than outright green character.
