Bodegas Cerrosol 2002 Verdejo (Rueda)
Best Buy
Price
$11
Snappy, with citrus and a certain aromatic pungency. As for flavors, it’s mostly orange, green melon, white pepper and herbs, while the feel is dry and medium-full, with adequate freshness.

Bodegas Cerrosol 2006 Doña Beatriz Sauvignon (Rueda)
Online Exclusive
Price
$12
This tiny production SB is sweet and easygoing, with canned peach aromas along with pineapple and mild citrus flavors. Roundness and a smooth feel work in the wine’s favor, because there’s just enough acidity to push the length on the finish. Drink right away.

Bodegas Cerrosol 2005 Doña Beatriz Verdejo (Rueda)
Price
$12
Admittedly it’s a bit late to be reviewing this 2005 Verdejo, but it’s still fairly vital as it shows waxy citrus aromas in front of plump but anonymous white fruit. Still hanging in there with some persistence and mouthfeel, but get at it right away.

There are a number of sensational Verdejo-based whites from this region, but this isn’t one of them. The nose is heavy and creamy, while the palate is overdone yet bland. The dry, acidic palate is fresh enough, but where’s the flavor? Not terrible, but not very good.
