This Macabeo (Viura) blend is neutral on the nose but fairly big and bulky on the palate. Flavors of lemon-lime and banana are spritzy at first and then stickier late. Spice and leather aromas are positive while the smells of burnt leaves and green herbs aren’t too appealing. The palate is big and wide with a mix of cherry cough drop, plum and burnt coffee flavors. And the finish evaporates fast, leaving heat and medicinal notes.  — M.S.  (10/1/2009)
