Bodegas Qumrán 2006 Crianza Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
Online Exclusive
Price
$30
There’s an exotic twist to the nose, which rests on black cherry, plum and a splash of black coffee. The palate is sound and structured, with dark fruit flavors accented by spice and tea notes. Comfortable on the finish, with good tannins and acids holding it all together. Drink now.

Bodegas Qumrán 2005 Crianza Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
Online Exclusive
Price
$30
A little saucy and leathery on the nose, but there’s also licorice, blackberry and woody aromas to ponder. Flush and well composed on the palate, with plum, raspberry and mild salty, savory notes. Finishes with good feel but a slight herbal taste of tomato and/or oregano.

Bodegas Qumrán 2009 Roble Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
Online Exclusive
Price
$15
Floral, earthy, funky and barnyardy, with all the young exuberance that comes with joven/roble wines from RDD. Lots of color, power, tannins and extract along with young, sweet, chewy black-fruit flavors and tart acidity to the palate.

Bodegas Qumrán 2007 Crianza Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
Online Exclusive
Sweet and funky smelling, with a weird set of aromas that suggest Middle Eastern spice and hard-to-gauge fruit. The palate feel is barely acceptable, while the flavors are jumbled and overtly spicy and strange. Maybe it’s the oak? Or maybe it’s just not very good wine.
