Bodegas y Viñedos del Jaro 2001 Sed de Caná Tinto del Pais (Ribera del Duero)
My first look at this fledgling project from the folks at Osborne left me impressed. Sed de Caná is a well toasted, masculine Tempranillo with raw, smoky aromas and a broad-shouldered palate. It toes the line between spunky and tannic, but there’s so much forward fruit thrown in that you can’t help but like it. Needs several years to settle; best by 2008. 145 cases made.
