Bokisch 2008 Las Cerezas Vineyard Graciano (Mokelumne River)

  1. $21
Fruity, dusty and soft, a dark cherry and plum Graciano grown and made in Lodi with great depth, balance and earthiness. The grape is native to Rioja where it is usually blended with Tempranillo, but does deliciously here on its own. From Lodi Rules Certified Green grapes.  — V.B.  (3/1/2012)

Bokisch 2008 Belle Colline Vineyard Monastrell (Clements Hills)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $21
Also known as Mourvèdre. This Spanish-inspired Monastrell from Bokisch, grown on a hillside, is brawny with plenty of earth and bacon bite to it, yet also floral, rich yet also bright, tasting of black cherry and pomegranate with a menthol tobacco chaser.  — V.B.  (3/1/2012)

Bokisch 2008 Tempranillo (Lodi)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $21
Bright and earthy, dense and dark, this New World Tempranillo has an Old World soul, with dark cherry and strawberry going on as well as a touch of cocoa and tobacco. Its acidity adds a spark on the finish; this Ribera del Douro native grape seems plenty happy in the middle of California, at least in Bokisch’s hands.  — V.B.  (3/1/2012)

Bokisch 2010 Terra Alta Vineyard Albariño (Clements Hills)

  1. $16
Bokisch remains a small, family-owned brand to watch out of Lodi, a husband and wife team devoted to Spanish and Portuguese varieties they mostly grow themselves. This light, refreshing Albarino has green apple and pear to spare and lovely, dry acidity, its Catalan roots evident in the wine’s overall Old-World style. It screams for seafood.  — V.B.  (11/1/2011)

Bokisch 2004 Albariño (Lodi)

  1. $16
Like a good, unoaked Sauvignon Blanc, this wine is very dry and high in acids, with citrus, apricot and mineral flavors that make you think of oysters. It’s a very good wine, and showcases the enormous possibilities of this variety in California.  — S.H.  (12/31/2005)

Bokisch 2009 Terra Alta Vineyard Garnacha (Clements Hills)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $18
Very savory and herbal, this is one of Bokisch’s bigger-bodied reds, still bright with strawberry, cherry, even cranberry and earthy flavors and packing a powerful, Rioja-type finish at the end.  — V.B.  (3/1/2012)

Bokisch 2002 Albariño (Lodi)

  1. $16
This Spanish variety, rare in California, is distinctive. It’s full-bodied, with a thick texture and dense weight that carry rich, almost syrupy, flavors of peaches and apricots. But brilliant acidity keeps it all lively, and it’s fully dry.  — S.H.  (2/1/2004)

Bokisch 2001 Graciano (Lodi)

  1. $19
Very dark, densely layered, and dramatically full-bodied, with its lush, thick tannins and gobs of rich black cherry fruit. Tastes and feels like melted jam, flooding the palate with oozy flavors. But it’s bone dry. The trace of astringency in the finish may go away in a few years.  — S.H.  (4/1/2004)
