Bonair 2004 Port Gewürztraminer (Yakima Valley)
-
$21
Yes it is 100% Gewürztraminer, and yes the winery calls it Port, listing the alcohol content at 19.5%. Unusual it certainly may be, but it is really quite well made, with varietal character showcasing very tasty candied citrus and sugared rose petals. The brandy is neither hot nor intrusive. All in all it’s an intriguing, versatile and unique dessert wine.

Bonair 2001 Riesling (Yakima Valley)

$10
A pretty, forward, fruity nose with fruit and blossom scents mixed together; a lovely anise note rides over the top. This wine also has plenty of fruit power, and the fruit has some texture and flesh, extending into a smooth, spicy, lively finish.

Bonair 1998 Merlot (Yakima Valley)
-
$18
Bonair has made a big, earthy bruiser of a Merlot in this vintage, with complex aromas mixing ripe fruit, leather, earth and a whiff of barnyard. The fruit is topnotch, showing cassis and black cherry, along with firm, dark chocolate in the tannic finish.

Bonair 2007 Riesling (Yakima Valley)

$13
The alcohol is under 11%, and there is a sweet, honeyed peach flavor underlying tart green apple fruit. It’s like biting into an apple tart, with the same mix of fruit, cinnamon, honey caramel, and fresh-baked crust. A substantial 6.6% residual sugar.
