Stainless steel fermented, this pure varietal is bursting with a tasty fruit bowl mix of apple, pineapple, and Meyer lemon. A hint of mint sneaks in, and the acidity brings bracing minerality to the finish.  — P.G.  (8/1/2010)

  1. $15
The Boomtown brand from Dusted Valley is quickly becoming one of Walla Walla’s best value lineups. This smooth and satiny Cabernet was aged in 50% new oak—mostly French—and has the chocolaty mouthfeel to prove it. Round, ripe, tasty red fruits are set against the barrel flavors and a streak of licorice. A lot of wine for the price.  — P.G.  (8/1/2010)

Boomtown 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon (Washington)

Solid fruit anchors this value offering. The Cabernet is enhanced with 6% Petit Verdot, creating a fairly tannic wine that is loaded with herbal highlights, along with licorice, clove, vanilla and tobacco.  — P.G.  (11/1/2011)

Boomtown 2010 Pinot Gris (Washington)

A bracing, mouth-cleansing style, 100% varietal. Ultracrisp fruit mixes apple, melon and cucumber, then fills out in the middle with pretty herb and grass. The wine resonates, refreshing and textural, begging for food, or at least another glass.  — P.G.  (9/1/2011)

There is a lively, stony zip to this tank-fermented Chardonnay that lifts the palate and invites sipping. The flavors are pleasantly herbal, with strands of celery, cilantro, melon and green banana weaving together across the palate and into a crisp finish.  — P.G.  (5/1/2011)

Boomtown 2007 Pinot Gris (Columbia Valley (WA))

All Evergreen vineyard fruit showcasing luscious, fresh- cut pear fruit flavors, along with hints of mint and spice. Acids are pure and firm, and there is also an underlying minerality that is clean and refreshing. Better yet, the alcohol is kept under 13%.  — P.G.  (5/1/2009)

Boomtown 2007 Unoaked Chardonnay (Columbia Valley (WA))

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $13
This has 5% Sauvignon Blanc in the blend. It’s done in all stainless steel; the Chardonnay is tight and spicy, with melon and apple flavors. There’s a vitamin pill streak that comes up also, and then it leads into some almond flavors in the finish. It’s almost like a northern Italian style, with almond and pepper and relatively high acid. Good food wine.  — P.G.  (5/1/2009)

Boomtown 2008 Pinot Gris (Columbia Valley (WA))

  1. $13
This is 100% varietal, from Evergreen and Ancient Lakes, two of Washington’s best white wine vineyards. Quite lemony and tart, it has a refreshing minerality underscoring cool-climate fruit flavors that just barely touch upon melon, with food-friendly acidity.  — P.G.  (5/1/2010)
