Bouchaine 2007 Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir (Carneros)

  1. $45
An absolutely first-rate wine. It’s dry, silky and savory, showing the crisp acidity and strawberry, mineral and cinnamon spice flavors of a fine Carneros Pinot Noir. Perfect now with crab cakes, roasted salmon, grilled chicken with rosemary new potatoes.  — S.H.  (4/1/2011)

Bouchaine 2005 Chardonnay (Carneros)

  1. $30
Nice, dry and complex, a crisp wine with quite a bit of minerality undergirding the fruit and oak. Feels fine and balanced in the mouth, and should take a couple years in the cellar.  — S.H.  (9/1/2007)

Bouchaine 2006 Estate Chardonnay (Carneros)

  1. $30
Bouchaine has a long history of making balanced, delicate Chards, the kind that don’t stand out in competitions, but marry well with food. Their ’06 is dry and crisp, with mineral and slate flavors undergirding citrus, pear and smoky oak tastes.  — S.H.  (11/1/2008)

Bouchaine 1999 Chardonnay (Carneros)

  1. $25
Always rich and toasty, Bouchaine’s ’99 drinks bright and ripe. There are white peach and tropical fruit flavors dusted with crushed oriental spices, and the whole is framed in well-charred oak. This is a fat, lush, creamy Chardonnay, polished and satisfying. —S.H.  — S.H.  (5/1/2002)

Bouchaine 2008 Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir (Carneros)

  1. $50
The vineyard is on the Napa side of Carneros. The grapes got quite ripe, to judge from the flavors of black cherries, while 75% new oak adds distinct flavors of sweet, caramelized toast. The wine is pretty tannic, with fine acidity. Give it a few hours in the decanter before pouring.  — S.H.  (12/31/2011)
