Brown Brothers 1999 Patricia Late Harvested Noble Riesling (Australia)

  1. $33
Green-amber in color; the wine’s very aromatic, with deep, apricot marmalade, nectarine, orange and olive oil scents. In the mouth, there’s a tremendous rush of flavor: honey, marmalade, nectarine and a hint of petrol. A little rough on the medium-long finish, but that won’t keep you from reaching for another glass. Only 100 6-bottle cases imported to the U.S.  — W.E.  (8/1/2004)

Brown Brothers 2000 Patricia Reserve Shiraz (Victoria)

  1. $33
Opens with peppery-smoky aromas. This is a supple, elegant Shiraz, easy to drink, with blackberry, vanilla and dill flavors that fade into a smooth finish.  — W.E.  (8/1/2004)

Brown Brothers 2000 Patricia Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Victoria)

  1. $30
Black as black in color, which may or may not have anything to do with the 7% Petit Verdot inside. It’s a straight-up plum-and-oak combo, dense in the mouth with tealike tannins that linger on the finish.  — W.E.  (8/1/2004)

Brown Brothers 2001 Patricia Reserve Chardonnay (Victoria)

  1. $28
Round but restrained in the mouth, this Chardonnay’s pear and apple fruit is clean and flavorful, and are accented by butter and oat. Picks up more oak, and a little heat, on the finish.  — W.E.  (8/1/2004)

Brown Brothers 2000 Patricia Reserve Merlot (Victoria)

  1. $30
Dust, dried herb and pure black cherry aromas segue into black cherry, vanilla and tree bark flavors on the palate. On the lighter side, as far as Merlot goes. Finishes with a bite of herb and coffee.  — W.E.  (8/1/2004)

Brown Brothers 2003 Chardonnay (Victoria)

  1. $13
A food-friendly, drinkable Chard. On the nose, it is just a little nutty, with pear, peach and resin, and it tastes just as it smells. Round and just a little alcoholic on the palate. Imported by Palm Bay Imports.  — D.T.  (10/1/2005)

Brown Brothers 2001 Estate Bottled Chardonnay (Victoria)

  1. $11
A feminine Chardonnay, one that has scents and flavors of cream, talc powder and flowers. In contrast, the wine’s mouthfeel is a coarse accompaniment for what the palate and nose offer.  — D.T.  (12/31/2003)

Brown Brothers 2001 Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon (Victoria)

  1. $13
Creamy, oaky flavors accent black fruit on the palate, with woodsy, ashy tannins on the follow-through. It’s good, though a little dull around the edges, and with less stuffing than I’d like.  — D.T.  (12/31/2003)
