The Jura region in eastern France is a fine source for inexpensive sparklers. This 1996 blanc de blancs is a great value at this price. Brut d'Argent also makes a brut rosé at the same price, but make sure you buy a recent vintage; inexpensive rosés often don't age well.  — W.E.  (11/15/1999)
