Ca' Bertoldi 1998 Red (Amarone della Valpolicella)

More red than brick in color, with light, distant fruit aromas and touches of citrus peel, leather and a smidgen of acetone. Black cherry, fairly sweet in stature, carries the palate, while the tail end is based on dark chocolate, coffee and roasted meats. Sturdy and structured.
