A firm, tightly coiled and structured wine, which tastes of the granite soil of the Dão. At the moment it is dominated by tannins and dark fruits, a solid core around which there are glimpses of plum and black currants. Age for 2–3 years, or drink now with rich foods.

A highly spiced wine that has some of the granitic minerality of Dão, but seems to have lost most in a welter of toast, pepper and nutmeg. The acidity is the redeeming feature.
