Cascina Cucco 2007 Cerrati Vigna Cucco Nebbiolo (Barolo)

  1. $57
Inky-dark saturation and immediate aromas of dark fruit, cassis, chocolate, carob seed, tar, tobacco and licorice offer an excellent first impression. Dark spice and finely ground black pepper accent the wine’s long, elegant mouthfeel. Drink after 2015.  — M.L.  (9/1/2011)

Cascina Cucco 2006 Cerrati Vigna Cucco Nebbiolo (Barolo)

You’ll enjoy the elegance and refined nature of this Barolo from the Serralunga d’Alba municipality. Bright aromas of cherry, vanilla, cola and ginger are carefully woven into the wine’s bouquet and the mouthfeel is characterized by long, drying mineral notes.  — M.L.  (12/1/2010)

Cascina Cucco 2006 Cerrati Nebbiolo (Barolo)

Lively cherry, blackberry, cola and cedar tones mark the bouquet of this ruby-colored Barolo from the Cerrati cru. Toasted oak and spice aromas are delicately woven within and the wine finishes with crisp freshness and firm tannins.  — M.L.  (12/1/2010)

Cascina Cucco 1998 Vigna Cucco Nebbiolo (Barolo)

  1. $64
Mint, spice, red chilies and even some charcoal are apparent on the bouquet. Flavors of dried cherries and apple skin follow on the leathery palate. The ending impression is a bit light, but that’s o.k. Not every Barolo need be a tannic bomb, and this one is quite pleasant in its youth. That said, another three or four years of aging is probably in order.  — M.S.  (11/15/2002)

Cascina Cucco 1998 Cerrati Nebbiolo (Barolo)

  1. $64
Notes of truffle and flowers dominate the nose. There are some black cherry flavors but more prominent is a dried-meat quality. Tannins were a little aggressive on the finish, but should settle with time.  — C.S.  (11/15/2002)
