Castel Grisch 2007 Johannisberg Riesling (Finger Lakes)
Price
$15
This wine has a flirty, floral nose followed by vibrant flavors of citrus and ripe fruit. Slightly sweet but balanced by clean minerality and acid, the wine is an elegant summer sipping and pairing choice: think shellfish, Asian cuisine, chicken kabobs on the grill.

Castel Grisch 2007 Ice Wine Vidal Blanc (Finger Lakes)
Price
$25
This wine has a mellow nose of apricot, honey and lemon, and is followed by creamy fruit flavors of apricot and honey. Complex and luscious but balanced by acidity and and spice, the wine has a lingering, sweet finish. A great find.

Castel Grisch 2006 Reserve Chardonnay (Finger Lakes)
Online Exclusive
Price
$15

The finish is good and layered.

Price

Instantly appealing aromas of rose water and kiwi fruit make for a great opener but yield to a one-dimensional palate. The short, slightly flabby finish shows pleasant orange rind notes.

Castel Grisch 2007 Chancellor (Finger Lakes)
Online Exclusive
Price
$12
Crisp and exceptionally low in tannin, the Chancellor grape is perhaps this continent’s answer to the Gamay of Beaujolais. The brilliant garnet hue of this example will force you to pick up the glass. Unfotunately, what you find there won’t hold your attention for very long. The aromas are pleasant but diffuse and lead to a one-dimensional palate with only a few…
