Castiglion del Bosco 2006 Campo del Drago Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)
Price
$75
Campo del Drago Brunello boasts a soft, modern style with creamy chocolate and opulent cherry overtones. The wine is almost ready to drink (try it after 2014) but would also make a promising candidate for more years of cellar aging.

Castiglion del Bosco 2006 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)
Price
$55
Plush and softly textured, this modern expression of Brunello boasts generous tones of black fruit, cherry, tobacco, leather and cola with smooth, silky tannins. You could age this wine many more years, or drink it sooner thanks to the inherent softness here.

Castiglion del Bosco 2000 Campo del Drago Sangiovese (Brunello di Montalcino)
Price
$75
Intense, rich, full-bodied: this wine has all the makings of Big Brunello with two capital Bs. Chewy fruit, incense-like sassiness, and an extra smooth ride over a panoramic finish. Nothing is out of place and no one element overpowers the others. Drink 2010–2020. Imported by William Grant & Sons, Inc.

Castiglion del Bosco 2005 Campo del Drago Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)
Here is a sweet, plump and succulent Brunello with bright notes of cherry, blackberry, spice, leather and a touch of dark chocolate. The wine is extra soft and smooth in the mouth and those bright cherry flavors last a long time on the finish. The tannins are polished and dry. Drink after 2014.

$80
Prima Pietra is a stand-alone super Tuscan blend from the Castiglion del Bosco estate (owned by fashion’s Ferragamo family), which is already well known for its excellent Brunello di Montalcino. This is a plump, modern and well-extracted wine with soft tannins and beautiful length.

Castiglion del Bosco 2001 Sangiovese (Brunello di Montalcino)
Price
$45
Engineered as modern Brunello and deliciously successful as such. Owned by the Ferragamo family. This is a wild card, new winery with little in the way of a track record and a lot to prove. But you can count on it becoming a pivotal force in a few years. Full, rich, ripe, dense and fruit-forward with feathery softness in the mouth. Imported by William Grant & Sons, Inc.

Castiglion del Bosco 2007 Campo del Drago Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)
Price
$80
Youthful, bright and direct in its bold cherry and blueberry aromas. Vinous, chewy and raw with more evolution ahead. Chewy density with bold concentration and ripe fruit. Give it 4–6 more years.

Castiglion del Bosco 2005 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)
A sweet note of vanilla and cinnamon emerges at first and is soon followed by cherry, coffee and leather. The wine is both soft and silky thanks to its cherry and bright fruit nuances. It also offers zesty freshness on the close.
