Ceja 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

  1. $75
Strong and a bit blunt now, showing an immature profile of smoky new oak, red and black berries and stone fruits. The tannins are chunky and clunky, giving a rather rustic mouthfeel. Should knit together in the bottle after 2012.  — S.H.  (3/1/2010)

Ceja 2002 Syrah (Sonoma Coast)

  1. $28
Big disagreement over this wine, with West Coast Editor Steve Heimoff lauding it for its balance and ripe black cherry flavors, while Tasting Director Joe Czerwinski found it a bit vegetal (green bean). It does have a supple, creamy mouthfeel and a pleasant finish of coffee and herb.  — W.E.  (9/1/2005)

Ceja 2001 Syrah (Sonoma County)

  1. $28
Complex, with plum, clove, oaky vanilla and grilled meat notes. Drinks very dry, with firm tannins. Shows real style in the overall balance and harmony.  — S.H.  (3/1/2005)

Ceja 2000 Merlot (Carneros)

  1. $32
A good, rather simple red wine. It’s rich in cherries and earth, with sturdy tannins.  — S.H.  (3/1/2005)
