Marked by aggressive acidity and some dusty tannins, this Pinot is not showing well now. It’s just too hard and tart. But the flavors are enormously ripe, and the finish is dry and silky and long. It all suggests cellaring to let the cherries, black raspberries and Dr. Pepper cola emerge from their tomb. Better after 2011.

A very dry, acidic young Chardonnay, marked by oak influence. The basic wine is tart and ripe in citrus and peach fruit, while barrels add richer notes of vanilla cream and buttered toast. Lees stirring is evident in the Champagne-like yeastiness. An elegant Chard to drink now.

A spicy wine, silky and light-bodied, with sour raspberry candy, mushroom and sandalwood flavors leading to a long, complex finish. It’s an elegant, polished wine, with modest alcohol . Seems best for drinking over the next few years.

A streak of green testifies to some unripe notes, which are accompanied by notable acidity. The wine is rather lean and angular, especially compared with lusher, riper Chards from the vicinity, but some will like its linearity and low alcohol.
