This small-production barrel selection is wildly delicious to drink. It offers wave after wave of sweet raspberry jam, cherry pie, milk chocolate, peppered beef jerky and exotic baking spices, wrapped into smooth, fine tannins. It’s one of the most complex, drinkable Zins out there. Drink now–2015.

Pretty expensive for a Petite Sirah, but it really is fantastic. Shows the variety’s powerful tannins and fruit, with a velvety texture framing jammy blackberries, blueberries, carob, vanilla, exotic spices and smoky cedar. Will develop for many years, but there’s no reason not to drink it now.

A wonderfully balanced, rich Zin. It’s ripe, fruity and spicy, offering powerful flavors of sweet berry jam, chocolate, licorice, bacon, vanilla bean, black pepper and sandalwood. The alcohol is high, but if it wasn’t, this Zin wouldn’t be as good.

A big, vital Cabernet, lush and ripe in blackberry, currant, cherry and smoky cedar wood. It’s a little soft, but the tannins are quite strong, giving the wine astringency. Should easily negotiate the next 10 years.
