Château Doisy-Daëne 2005 White (Barsac)
Cellar Selection
Price
$50
Under the control of white wine wizard Denis Dubourdieu, this is one of the great wines of Barsac. It has intensity of sweetness, but just the right lightness, which gives it freshness as well as richness. This is a great wine in its early stages, and is certainly likely to age over many years.

93-95 Barrel sample. Honeyed and spice, with lots of nutmeg, a wine that is packed with flavors, lychee in character, defiantly rich and spicy.

A fine, complex wine that balances sweetness with fresh lemon and honey flavors on top of a core of dry botrytis and a tight structure. A wine for aging.

Château Doisy-Daëne 2004 Barrel Sample White (Sauternes)
92–94 A delicious, sweet wine, which has great fruit, layers of dryness from the botrytis and intense structure. The acidity is certainly there, but dominated by the richness of the fruit.

Château Doisy-Daëne 2011 Barrel Sample White (Barsac)

92-94. Barrel sample. Herbaceous aromas are followed by nutmeg and crisp fruit. This has the great ripe fruit of the year without the huge intensity; it’s a wine that has subtlety as well as complexity.

Château Doisy-Daëne 2006 White (Barsac)
Online Exclusive
A lively, spicy wine that shows ginger and nutmeg character, followed by ripe white pears. Beneath this vivid character, the texture is smooth, honeyed, deliciously ripe.

Château Doisy-Daëne 2007 White (Barsac)
Cellar Selection
The color is light on this wine, which is really only just beginning to show richness. The botrytis dominates, with a fat, oily texture needing many years of aging. There is a lovely ripe orange marmalade flavor on the finish.

Château Doisy-Daëne 2008 Barrel sample White (Barsac)
Online Exclusive
91-93 Barrel sample. Dry, concentrated, a powerful wine with great swathes of dry botrytis cutting through the fruit. A wine that, at this stage, shows power and density.
