Dry, firmly tannic wine, dominated by mint and coffee flavors along with wood. The fruit underneath has a suggestion of ripe blackberry flavors but will need at least 3 years to come out. It is a powerful, complex wine for aging.

The balance between the firm tannins and ripe fruit works well here. The texture is dense, rough at the edges but with good layers of wood, acidity and dry tannins. The aftertaste has welcome freshness.
