Château Fombrauge 2004 Red (Saint-Emilion)
Price
$66
Planted in the eastern half of Saint-Emilion, this Merlot-dominated vineyard also benefits from Cabernet Franc. That gives the aromatic nature of the powerful fruit. For the rest, there is richness, dark black juicy fruits and intensity, all held together by a fine structure.

89-91 Barrel sample. Spicy, initially this wine seems to have too much wood. But in the end, the dense fruit tannins come through to dominate, giving a bright final character.

Château Fombrauge 2005 White (Bordeaux Blanc)
Price
$63
There aren’t many white vines in Saint-Emilion vineyards, but this rare wine has plenty of acid freshness, rounded by green plum and spice flavors. The toasty aftertaste gives a satisfying richness to this ready-to-drink wine.

Château Fombrauge 2003 White (Bordeaux)
Price
$29
It is rare to find a white wine from Saint-Emilion, so this is at least a curiosity. But it is also a wonderful, rich wine, with creamy, toasty flavors and ripe white fruits. It’s fresh and ripe, and finishes with its spicy notes.

Château Fombrauge 2005 Barrel sample Red (Saint-Emilion)
Online Exclusive
88-90 Barrel sample. A balanced, elegant wine, like the demure sister of Magrez Fombrauge from the same estate. This will become a delicious wine with more focus on harmony than heft.
