Château la Croix de Gay 2009 Red (Pomerol)
Price
$40
There is huge fruit here, with the tannins firmly packed into the dark fruit character. Juicy Merlot is perfumed, open, swathed in rich robes. A wine for medium-term aging.

Château la Croix de Gay 2008 Barrel sample Red (Pomerol)

90-92 Barrel sample. Spicy new wood opens a wine that is rather stretched, taut. The opulence of Merlot Pomerol is not there, but it has been replaced by a structured wine. When the wood calms down, this will be serious.

Château la Croix de Gay 2011 Barrel Sample Red (Pomerol)

89-91. Barrel sample. Here is a smoky, juicy wine, its tannins soft and gentle while also showing ripe spice and mouthwatering acidity. The dry tannins at the end provide structure.

Château la Croix de Gay 2005 Barrel sample Red (Pomerol)

88-90 Barrel sample. A ripe, smooth, almost velvety wine that has big depths of flavor and solid tannins, but seems one-dimensional in its profile.

Château la Croix de Gay 2005 Red (Pomerol)
A wine that is dominated by new, spicy wood to the detriment to the fruit. You can feel the fruit, suggesting weight, but not taste it. If this wood calms down, then this could become a rich, velvety wine, but not yet.

Château la Croix de Gay 2010 Barrel sample Red (Pomerol)
Online Exclusive
88-90 While it is dense, the wine does not have structure. It seems diffuse, the berry fruit element not in balance with the tannins.
