Château La Tour Haut-Brion 2004 Red (Pessac-Léognan)
One of the properties under the same family ownership as Haut-Brion, La Tour Haut-Brion is a tiny 12-acre parcel. The 2004 has a smooth richness, coupled with a restrained delicacy that belies that the power of the dense tannins at the core. The aftertaste, though, is more soft and seductive.

Château La Tour Haut-Brion 2005 Barrel sample Red (Pessac-Léognan)

90-92 Barrel sample. Very dense, this wine has big, juicy fruit, but is firm enough with black flavors that add a complex herbal element.

Château La Tour Haut-Brion 2000 Red (Pessac-Léognan)
Price
$60
From the same stable as Haut-Brion, La Tour Haut-Brion reveals a fruity, almost frivolous character that makes it immediately charming. But there is no question that the soft, rich, black jelly fruits are the mask for a more concentrated, tannic structure. Give it 5-10 years.

Château La Tour Haut-Brion 2005 Red (Pessac-Léognan)
This wine is something of a collector’s item, since this is the last vintage it was made before integration of the vineyard into La Mission Haut-Brion. It’s a lively, ripe, cassis-flavored wine, with soft, rounded tannins and fresh acidity. It finishes light.
