Château Léoville-Poyferré 2010 Barrel sample Red (Saint-Julien)
Online Exclusive
95-97 Firmly tannic, although with wonderful fresh fruit, black currant skins, damsons, followed by bitter chocolate. It is certainly tough and dense, with the juicy acidity of the year giving a lifted finish.

Château Léoville-Poyferré 2008 Barrel sample Red (Saint-Julien)

94-96 Barrel sample. A beautiful wine, with its fresh wood, lively blackcurrant juice flavors, and subtle tannins. It has a lift and liveliness to it, which sits easily over the firm structure.

Château Léoville-Poyferré 2001 Red (Saint-Julien)
Cellar Selection
Online Exclusive
Price
$80
The completeness of 2001, with its miraculous balance, is present in this wine. The acidity, ripe blackcurrants sit comfortably on top of dry tannins, the fleshiness of the fruit taking the edge off the tannins. It seems to bring out the structure, the fruit and the refreshing acidity of great Cabernet.

Château Léoville-Poyferré 2009 Barrel sample Red (Saint-Julien)
Online Exclusive
93-95 Barrel sample. Firm, but solid, densely packed with tannins, new wood and a fine concentrated texture. It is big, but balanced, the only default being a high toast element.

Château Léoville-Poyferré 2005 Red (Saint-Julien)
Hugely concentrated and packed with tannins, this wine shows considerable amounts of dark, extracted fruit. It wins out on impressive power, driving the fruit through the tannins, giving great richness.

Château Léoville-Poyferré 2008 Red (Saint-Julien)
Generous and ripe, obviously extracted, this is a wine that is packed with tannins sharpened with black fruits. Spice, wood and acidity add to the depth of flavor.
