Owned by the Cazes family of Lynch-Bages, therefore with impeccable winemaking behind it, this is a big, tough wine based on great ripe fruit. The château continues to offer quality for price.

Under the ownership of the Cazes family (also owners of Lynch-Bages), this estate produces richly satisfying wines, even in lighter years like 2002. This is finely constructed, with acidity along with the tannins and dense black fruits. It certainly has power, but there is also great elegance.

With its fine, ripe tannins and immediately attractive acidity, this is a wine which looks set to develop relatively fast but with style.

88-90 A huge, dry wine that packs in dark tannins and new wood. But it also has black currant and herb flavors that give more complexity.

87-89 This exemplary estate, under the same ownership as Lynch Bages, has made a classic, richly tanninc Saint Estèphe, powering solid blackberry flavors through the tannins and leaving a fresh acidity to finish.
