Château Maris 2006 Old Vine Grenache (Minervois La Liviniere)
Price
$56
A beautiful opaque garnet color, you know this wine is going to be intense at first glance. Dark rich fruits abound on the nose and palate: blueberry, black plum, violet, coffee granules and a hint of cured meat. The mouth is silky and full and beautifully supported by soft, dusty tannins. Closes on a long, hearty finish.

Château Maris 2006 Old Vine Syrah (Minervois La Liviniere)
Price
$46
A refined and complex Syrah from the “Grand Cru” of Minervois la Liviniere. Raspberry, blueberry, rosemary and thin mint flesh out the velvety texture, supported by a solid backbone of gripping tannins and balanced acidity. Coffee and cocoa notes develop on the lush, lingering finish.

This juicy, fruit forward Grenache offers flavors of red plum, blueberries and licorice supported by notes of rosemary and roses in the background. Silky texture with ample tannin and acidity leads into a fairly long and nicely evolving finish. Excellent choice for red meat dishes. Imported by The Portfolio Group.

Château Maris 2005 Old Vine Syrah (Minervois La Liviniere)
Online Exclusive
Price
$36
A touch funky and green at first, that soon blows off to reveal a dark and wonderfully concentrated wine that shows some serious promise with age. Cassis, plum, black cherry, spice and tobacco fill the palate, with a long, smoky finish sealing the deal. Drink after 2010. Imported by The Portfolio Group.

Château Maris 2006 La Touge Syrah (Minervois La Liviniere)
Price
$27
Sourced from the La Touge vineyard, this is a bright and promising Syrah offering primary aromas of raspberry and strawberry with accents of garrigue herbs and tea leaves. The palate is just as lively, with ample ripe red cherry in the mouth and on the finish. Balanced, well structured, and easy to drink.

Château Maris 1999 Red (Minervois La Liviniere)
Price
$16
This nose of this Syrah-Grenache-Carignan blend has mineral and weedy notes at first; after a few minutes in the glass, the greenness fades, and spicy paprika notes show through. Taut but bright blackberries and earth flavors lead into a toasty, dark, medium-length finish.
