Chateau St. Croix 2004 Merlot (America)
Online Exclusive
Price
$25
Soft, fruity and dry, with cherry-berry flavors and notes of violets, oak and sweet dried Provencal lavender and thyme. There’s a good backbone of tannins, but they’re the ripe, finely-woven type.

Chateau St. Croix 2004 Three Barrel Reserve Red (California)
Price
$65
Made from mainly Lodi-grown Cabernet, Merlot and Petite Sirah, this is a tart, minty young wine, with a chlorophyl-like greenness to the modest cherry and cocoa flavors. The texture is smooth and polished, but it sure is pricy for what you get.

Chateau St. Croix 2005 Chardonnay (America)
Online Exclusive
Price
$14
Sweet and rustic, this Chard shows sugary pineapple flavors and a good deal of oak. Everything about it is nice, except for the unbalanced sweetness.

Chateau St. Croix 2003 Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (America)
Online Exclusive
Price
$27
On the first sniff, the nose says Port, with caramelized, baked cherry aromas. The wine tastes dry and sharp and watery, with only a hint of Cabernet character.
