Château Troplong Mondot 2009 Red (Saint-Emilion)
Cellar Selection
Price
$170
A very concentrated wine with such a stylish feel. It balances ripe berry fruits with chocolate and wood flavors in the richest, ripest combination. The wine has power, without losing its poised character. It’s ready for long aging.

Château Troplong Mondot 2006 Barrel Sample Red (Saint-Emilion)
94-96 Barrel Sample Perfumed wood aromas, with spicy, dark toast flavors. To taste, it is like peering into a dark tunnel, very heavy, firm and unyielding. The fruit’s somewhere there in the darkness.

93-95 Barrel sample. Definite new wood aromas here, the wine impressively dense, structured. Then there is velvet, caramel wood layer that sneaks in to give a wine that has freshness, but great elegance.

Château Troplong Mondot 2009 Barrel sample Red (Saint-Emilion)

93-95 Barrel sample. At this stage, the wood element is overpowering. You have to imagine the fruit, but the weight of the wine suggests it is there. Big, solid and chunky, it is the product of very ripe fruit.

Château Troplong Mondot 2006 Red (Saint-Emilion)
Cellar Selection
A wine that succeeds in combining great depth of flavor and structure with an impressive array of flavors. On top of the tannins is juicy black fruit, cocoa, a welter of spice and ripeness. The acidity and new wood put the wine into a more modern style. Wait for at least 5–7 years.

Château Troplong Mondot 2000 Red (Saint-Emilion)
Price
$85
A soft, rich wine that bears all the classic qualities of the Valette family’s winery - a strength of line along and complexity. The fruit is ripe, ultra-generous, but is still tempered with layers of acidity and soft tannins.
